Artwork, information found on this website and other documentation provided with art pieces must not be copied or reproduced without written consent from the artist.

If you do not wish for your commission to be displayed online (for example if it’s for a surprise gift) then you must request this before work commences. However, this is offered as a courtesy and the artist still retains the right to publish her work online at any time.

Commission Process

The artist’s commission process will be discussed with you before a booking is made. When a reference photo has been decided upon by the artist and client, a digital mock-up will be made by the artist for the client’s approval. This is the time to request size and orientation changes, including removal of collars etc. on approval and payment of the deposit, a sketch of the commission will then be drawn for the client’s approval, this is the time to request for any tonal/colour changes such as darker fur or greener eyes.

Once a drawing is complete, the client will be provided with a watermarked image to give the final approval. This is the final opportunity to request any minor changes, such as the removal of small grey hairs or whitening teeth or eyes. due to the nature of the paper and pencil pigment, major changes cannot be made here as it may damage the artwork.

Once the client confirms they are 100% satisfied with the portrait, the artwork will be sealed using an invisible fixative and no more changes can be made. The artwork will be framed and/or packaged for shipping or collection. the client will then be required to pay the remaining balance via their preferred payment method before the artwork is released.

Payments

In order to commission a portrait, please contact me to request a slot; a deposit will be requested in order to book and secure a space. A commission will not begin until the deposit has been received. Payment methods accepted are Paypal and via bank transfer (please note that transaction fees must be covered by the client). When a commission is complete, the client must then pay the remaining balance via their chosen payment method before the item is posted or collected.

Payment plans are also available on request, please contact me to arrange one that is suitable for you. If you are unable to make a payment, your portrait slot will be forfeited and I may have to move your slot back.

Postage costs must be covered by the client and will be accurately quoted by the artist depending on the artwork size and whether or not it has been framed by the artist.

If a commission is being framed by the artist, full payment must be made up-front in order to place the order for the frame and glazing.

Commissions, framed or unframed, will not be released until full payment is made. If full payment has not been made within 3 months of portrait completion (without prior arrangement), then your commission will be put on the website for sale. You will not be refunded for your portrait if sold this way.

Shipping + Damage in Transit

Most items are shipped within 3-5 business days from portrait completion (and framing if required). All artwork is sent tracked and signed for via royal mail in the UK, and via a tracked courier for international.

It is not recommended to have a portrait framed if it will be posted overseas. This is because the glazing is unlikely to survive the journey and may damage the artwork, however if you would like your portrait framed, please discuss with me alternate glazing options for when it arrives with you.

The highest care is taken to ensure all items are packaged well to arrive with you safety and in pristine condition. However, in the most unfortunate event that an artwork would arrive with you damaged you must inform me immediately with clear photographs of the damaged parcel and the damaged item.

Depending on the level of damage that has occurred, I will discuss with you our best options for repair - it may be that the artwork should be returned to the artist and the portrait will be restored or redrawn. However, please be aware that a redrawn portrait will be scheduled at the earliest possible slot, and this may be quite some time in the future.

Cancellations

Upon booking a slot and from the time a deposit is paid, clients will have a 14 day money-back guarantee to cancel their order, in which a full refund will be issued. Cancellations must be made by contacting me directly, via the contact page. Upon cancelling a slot, the client forfeits their place in the waiting list.

If a client cancels their commission after the 14 day period, the deposit becomes non-refundable to cover loss of business and the artist’s administrative time, including any mock-ups, sketches and materials used. You may wish to instead delay your commission slot to further in the future.

If a client wishes to cancel a portrait once the drawing stage has begun, the deposit becomes non-refundable and the remaining balance of the portrait will be due. This must be paid in full to cover the artist’s administrative costs, materials, and loss of business. You may wish instead to delay your commission slot or arrange a payment plan with me.

Please contact me directly through the contact page if you have any issues regarding your commission. I promise to always work my hardest to resolve any problems and make you feel appreciated and heard.

Lead Times

I have a waiting list for commissions which fluctuates often, therefore lead times are constantly changing. However, it can be expected that the next three months will have been booked up and locked in place. I take on work on a first-come first-served basis so do get in touch if you would like an estimate on how long a wait might be for a slot.

However, if you are looking to have a commission complete by a certain deadline, for example a birthday, do get in touch as I will always attempt to fit you into my schedule to have your portrait complete on time.

Returns

Commissions are not eligible for refunds. Each commission sale is final.

Items ordered via my shop may be eligible for a refund if within 30 days of purchase. Returns will be reviewed on a case by case basis, so please get in touch to discuss your problem before returning.

Privacy Policy

The artist will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to any third parties.

VAT and Import Duty

All items for purchase, including commissions, are not subject to Value Added Tax (VAT). Payment of import duty / customs may be liable in some countries, which is the sole responsibility of the client/customer.
